Book Review:

This book needs no introduction; you’ve seen multiple copies of this in bookstores all over and for good reason. I am definitely late to the party but finally having read it now, I can say I really wish I had picked it up earlier. Yuval Noah Harari has a way with storytelling that captivates the reader from the very first page. The information presented in this book isn’t especially new or revolutionary. What has, however, not been done before is this particular way of telling the story that we all know. Harari tells the story of mankind in a way that challenges your perspectives, confirms your ideas, and gives you something to think about- all in less than 500 pages.

What particularly struck me was his easy way of writing. He describes complex concepts in a way that makes them accessible to everyone. Another tiny detail that stood out to me was his use of language- everyone time he mentions a generalised example, or talks about humankind, he uses female pronouns. And although it’s a very tiny detail, it added to my reading experience.

All in all, it’s an incredible read and if you do decide to pick it up, I'm sure you will not regret it.

Happy Reading.
