Reviewer’s Note:
Barack Obama has always been someone I have admired. Not only was he the President of the United States, but he is also a Harvard Lawyer and a Columbia Undergrad, two really prestigious colleges. Irrespective of all this, it was his humbleness and the attitude to not back down to problems that impressed me the most. So having admired him for long, it finally felt good to read his book.
Book Review:
A Promised Land is the first of the two-part series documenting the journey of President Obama’s Presidential terms.
The initial chapters of the book revolve around President Obama and his childhood. His memories of his mother and his grandparents, the things they taught him, and the time he had, growing up in Hawai.
The following chapters lead to the start of President Obama’s political journey and how he went from being a Law student to the President of the United States of America.
President Obama has been detail-oriented in this book going into extreme detail about how his campaign for President started, the family banters it brought with it, and then, how after finally taking the office, he was faced with one of the biggest challenges if not the biggest, a recession.
President Obama has explained in detail every proposal and law he tried to get and how the internal conflicts between the two ruling parties hampered it. He also states about the things he learned from meeting various Delegates at global submits and his impressions of them.
Overall, I enjoyed the book. If your someone who wants to know more about President Obama’s journey and how he became one of the most influential men on the planet, do check this out.
Happy Reading.
