Book Review:
Take a Hint Dani Brown is the second book in the Brown Sisters trilogy by Talia Hibbert but it works as a standalone book as well, just like the other three.
The book is a feel-good and rosy romantic comedy about a fake-dating to lovers trope driving the plot with strong, multi dimensional characters. It revolves around Danika Brown, a PhD student who has sworn off romance and commitment, and Zafir Ansari, a rugby player turned security guard/coach who's hopelessly sentimental and is looking to find a romance like the ones he reads about in his novels. The two work at the same university and somehow end up being famous on social media as a video of Zaf rescuing Dani goes viral and they decide to use this moment of fame to help with Zaf's sports charity. The dynamic and chemistry between the two throughout the book with the witty dialogues, the relationships between all the characters, the smut, Dani's intellect and cleverness, Zaf's grumpy but soft attitude, and lastly the quirky romance keep the reader invested throughout. Although the trope has been done to death. Talia Hibbert knows her clichés and how to use them in the most extraordinary ways. The intelligent banter, however, steals the show, just like in Get a Life, Chloe Brown (the first book in the series). Talia gets the converdational tones just right with each book and this one is no exception.
If you want a comfort read with strong, multifaceted characters, this is the book for you. This one will make your heart feel like it's glowing.
Happy Reading.
